Description:
The spirometer unit is required to measure the volume of air, inspired and/or expired by a patient, as a function of time. It can monitor quiet breathing and thereby measure tidal volume and also trace deep inspirations and expirations to give information about vital capacity and forced vital capacity to help with diagnosis and monitoring of patients with neurological conditions predisposing to respiratory muscle and diaphragmatic weakness such as myasthenia gravis, guillain- barre syndrome, myopathies, etc.
