- Tenders are invited for The public stairway at Triq il-Madonna tal-Għar connects two main squares located in the historic centre of Mellieħa, namely: Misraħ il-Parroċċa where the parish church is located and Misraħ iż-Żjara tal-Papa Ġwanni Pawlu II, situated right in front of Sanctuary of Our Lady of Mellieħa. The access to the Second World War Shelter is located half way along the stairway. With the proposed interventions, the Council intends to draw more pedestrians and even stop at the upper landing, which serves as a belvedere that overlooks the Mellieħa Sanctuary Courtyard and the other side of the valley.
